Your Study Modules 1 to 3

MODULE 1 – BREATHING, VOICE AND SOUND

BREATHING explains the various techniques and importance of correct breathing, anatomy of the diaphragm and the lungs and the effect breathing has on the brain through which our physical and emotional health also benefit.    We also look at the origin of breathing from a Scientific and Theological point of view, which makes breathing the important phenomenon that it is.   

LARYNX AND VOICE is studied in full detail with the functioning of the larynx, voice production, resonance, projection and articulation.   We do the full range of breathing, articulation and vocal exercises.

MODULE 2 – POSTURE, MIME AND IMPROVISATION

POSTURE AND MOVEMENT is emphasized through a thorough understanding of the anatomy of the spine and exercises for improving posture.    We learn how to become attentive to the mind-body-spirit connection and how to develop fine mastery over managing our lives and careers.

MODULE 3 – THEATER, ACTING AND INTERPRETATION

We focus on the actors primary goal and the interpretation of various characters on stage and television.   We do poem and monologue studying, we look at the requirements of character building, we analyse scripts, we discuss the uses of drama and we study pitch, volume, rhythm and diction.

Your Study Modules 4 to 6

 MODULE 4 – STAGE DIRECTING

We look at your needs when directing a play – from selecting a script, analysing the script, concept and design and casting.   We study the method of blocking, making things happen, creating and carrying out the production concept and much, much more.

MODULE 5 – STORY TELLING AND MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES IN DRAMA

STORY TELLING – Everything about becoming a pro-story-teller           

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES such as the Linguistic, Logical-Mathematical, Musical, Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, Bodily-Kinesthetic and Spatial intelligences.

MODULE 6 – HISTORY OF THEATER AND DRAMA        

History from ancient- to contemporary theatre.

Theory Modules

The focus of Creative Drama is on acting, drama skills and techniques that are transferable to all other endeavors such as poise, diction, projection, confidence, and health on an existential level.     The principal aim of the course is to provide the candidate with a theoretical and practical background of the art of drama, and to prepare him for a career in acting.
